4 more cards & news

So we've been potty training our oldest daughter for a while and last night was the first night she made it all the way through the night with a dry bed etc. Because of this achievement my husband and I gave her a Dollar to buy a toy at the dollar store. That was the only incentive that seemed to entice her. So I took this cute picture of her and her dollar; and her glorious smile. Also, Stacy over at scrap with stacy is giving away some awesome blog candy check it out and wish her a happy birthday!

On to the cards... I made 4 cards that i'd like to share and of course their challenges and links...

 1) Pink by Design Ink It Pink Challenge #13 is Material... use some sort of material on a card. my mom recently brought my kids all my old dress up clothes and there was a cloth that I absolutely loved so I used a small swatch for my card. It kind of looks like water with sparkly bubbles so I knew the perfect stamp I was going to use and I found this quote on a Google search for a whale pun. I first cut the front of the card (the fish bowl) on my cameo and found a beautiful blueish silver shimmer card stock and cut the fish bowl out of the card base and hot glued the fabric in between the layers. since that created a weird ridge around the fish bowl I used Recollections foam adhesive mini circles to pop up the edges of the white front. then I took my whale stamp from imaginisce (splash dance collection)and used black ink from Stampin' Up! then used my Tombo pens to add a bit of color. I added a slit to the spine of the card and added blue and purple ribbon that my sister in law gave me. Then I stamped the banner from a home made stamp, cut from a silhouette file, cut it out and added more adhesive circles and added the sentiment and placed it above the bowl.
glued the fabric on the front of the card base.

 2) The Paper Cabana Challenge #2 is Fall Theme... I really liked this little turkey that I found on the silhouette store so I bought him.  he's just so chubby and cute! I don't really like how this card turned out so i'm going to revise it in the near future but not tonight as i'm going to be playing video games with my husband (as today is national video game day... and we both love video games)!  I inked the edges of the feathers with brown ink from Stampin' Up! and embossed Happy Thanksgiving on the front with my Jim Holtz distress embossing ink pad and my Zing! opaque finish white embossing powder.

3) Craft Your Passion challenge #127 ~ Blast from the past... use a previous challenge as a template. I chose Challenge #125 Emboss it... because I didn't find Craft your Passion till the next week (challenge #126) and so didn't get to do that one.  I made this awesome controller card for my husband (because, like I said before, it's national video game day) but decorated it the way i'd design my own controller if I could; (although my husband built me a custom made controller that is pretty awesome!) I used the white embossing powder and dragon fly stamps that I received from my M-I-L.  I also used Elmer's glitter glue and Creative Memories markers I got as a birthday gift right after I got married.  On the Geeks are sexy website my husband found a proposal that someone did asking her to be his player number 2! so I wrote that inside (gave him a good chuckle).  Also this weekend is their blog hop check them out!

4) Stuck on U Sketches 1st Wednesday card sketch ends September, 18th... I really liked this sketch so I really wanted to do a card for it.  I chose to use fall colors and some flourishes from the silhouette store (can you tell I love my cameo? i'm actually on my 3rd cutting mat and 2nd blade and I got it in July).  I used my Hugs! stamp with brown ink from Stampin' Up! and some Hemp cord for the buttons on top. I used black and white for the sentiment because I wanted that to be the first thing you see on the card.

My Take on the sketch.

  7. Ok since I'm a Momma w/ little ones I have to chat about potty training before I can even get to projects! LOL!
We just potty trained (and by we, I mean, me) my youngest this Summer! I can't believe how easy it was compared to my older 2. My daughter (who is over 6) only stopped wearing nighttime pull-ups the same week we started potty training my son so in the same week I got 2 out of diapers! Yay!
I just love, love that you took a photo! Too sweet, she's just beyond darling!
And gosh, all these projects! You are kicking butt!
Thanks for sharing w/ us at SOUS! Love the card!
